Les 2 Alpes provides over 200 km of pistes, with lifts up to 3 600 m linking the resort to La Grave, one of the best off-piste skiing areas in the alps – so good that people come all the way from the USA (with the fattest skis you’ve ever seen) just to experience it.
Perhaps with a mountain guide you will be tempted by ice climbing or by the off-piste runs in the Vallon de la Meije or by the descent to Saint Christophe en Oisans by the Vallon de la Selle… … or why not climb in snow-shoes with an « accompagnateur » for a picnic at Lac Le Lauvitel and, with a bit of luck, you will see some chamois or even a bouquetin.

Imagine after a hard day’s skiing, you leave your equipment in a secure ski locker, and relax for a while in a bar in Les 2 Alpes. When you begin to find the resort a little too much, leave all that behind you and take the télécabine down to the traditional village of Venosc. 8 minutes by car and you will be back “at home” in the front of the fire at Gîte Le Lauvitel.

There are two equipment shops at the Place de Venosc between the top of the Venosc télécabine and the ski slopes :

Children

There are extensive facilities at Les 2 Alpes but one of the delights of La Danchère is that we are surrounded by level fields and there is plenty of space for children to play in the snow.
